My 3 Convictions

What does it mean to be a follower of Christ?
To be a follower. As simple as that.

You do what He did, say what He says, feels how He feels, thinks like how He thinks, etc.

Each person has his/her own set of convictions. Ill share mine. :)

We are all created in His image and likeness. We are all His hands, His feet, His mouthpiece, etc.

CONVICTION #1: Like God, we are to be OMNISCIENT.

To be all-knowing? Sounds seemingly impossible. But nevertheless, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Our Lord is like that? Though we may not be EXACTLY at His level, we can all do our part to work towards this goal.

We believe in loving God wholeheartedly + Loving people fervently.
The 2 beams of the cross, the 2 greatest commandment.

The first having: Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, strength, etc.
-Summing the first 4 commandments

The second having: Loving your neighbour as yourself.
-Summing the next 6 commandments

a) To be 'omniscient' is to be socially and mentally alive.

How do you tell if a person loves someone?
He/she will know about the person.
And how will that be possible?

Through social interaction, through the sowing of seeds into the person's life, through fellowship, etc..anything you can think of.

Therefore, putting in the effort to know someone, is really a conviction to me. How can you love someone you have not known? God's love for us is great, firstly, because He is God, and God = Love, yes. But its also because He knows us FULLY.

And even knowing the fact we may be unfaithful sometimes, yet He still loves us, why? Because He sees our end result, our potential, who we eventually CAN become. He knows everything about us!

b) To be omniscient is to be discerning.

Being able to know the heart of God, the will of God and to have insight into what God wants to reveal to you, in you and through you. Thats why we must always keep our mental state at peak performance and not be blur or judgementally-impaired by alcohol, drugs, or any other form of intoxication, or even stress or anxiety over the wrong things.

c) To be 'omniscient' is to seek wisdom.

Just how many decisions you make a day, are decisions that are God-led?
Do you INQUIRE of God? In some areas? In most areas? Or in ALL aspects of your life?

"As many as those who are led by the Spirit, these are the sons of God..."

Are you led by the Spirit? Or are you led by your feelings (which may be good, or bad)
Even where to go, Ill will inquire of God. It may look stupid, but you will realise that wisdom in the smallest areas will take you far.

Its also your relationship with God. How intimate is it? Do you put aside time in your schedule to go out, spend time with God? I can say I have been on 'dates' with God, just me and Him in a posh place. Have you even done anything like that?

Is there even a small BIT of romance in your relationship?
Are you guys a TEAM?
Or is your life just about you!

CONVICTION #2: To be like God is to be OMNIPOTENT.

Once again, its not to be exactly at God's level, since we are NOT God, but BEING like Him.
What does it mean to be omnipotent?

For me personally, if a person is sick, you have the means to make him well.
If a person is sad, you can encourage.
If a person is lacking, you can provide.

Because God encourages, God heals and God provides..and many more. You name it.

If you cant heal, if you cant deliver, if you cant provide, if you cant support, if you cant encourage, if you cant love. YOU ARE NOWHERE LIKE GOD AT ALL!

Why did God give us the HS? Yes to be His witnesses. But also to be His hands, His feet, His mouthpiece, to empower us and His grace IS sufficient for every good work!

A person is down, all you can do is hmmm, ermmmm, *silence, come on. God doesnt hmmm, ermmmm..yes, He keeps silent sometimes, but He is always on time and faithful.

That is why even when you cant provide, even when you cant heal, PRAY!
And when you pray, tell the person, have simple accountability, 'yes ill pray for you'.

I know you are praying. Thats good, because Jesus is praying too, at God's right hand, interceeding for us. Dont just keep quiet about things. The bible didnt say, 'Jesus is glorified and is seated at the right hand of the Father doing mysteries that no one knows..'

When Paul wrote to the Corinthian church, he didnt start the book by saying, "Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I dont know why Im writing to you, but I just HOPE that you know, I will write to you soon!"

Come on, put some SENSE into your daily interactions. If a person does well, praise Him, if he doesnt, still encourage him. You learnt HAO GONG MING in primary school right? Okay, I dont know what they call it now, maybe some chim term like, SOCIAL ETIQUETTE or whatever.

Nowadays what do you call road sweepers? Dunno what cleanliness officer. All the jargans start coming out..haha. "Financial Planning Assistant" whoa must be some bigshot. Actually its some accountant. o.o

God's grace is sufficient, for EVERY good work. So no excuse.
Be hungry and earnestly desire the best gifts from the HS.

CONVICTION #3: To be like God is to be OMNIPRESENT.

To be 'omnipresent' is to be ever available. As simple as that.

When people need you, you are there for them.
Even when they dont, you take the extra mile to still be there.
Like they always say, 'show some face'!

Dont just wait for people to take the initiative all the time.
PRESS into people's lives.

God didnt come to you and:

"HI! I AM GOD.
YOU ARE MAN.
TOGETHER,
I WILL MAKE YOU...
FISHERS OF MEN...
SO...
THE END...
MERRY CHRISTMAS...
HOHOHO YOU MERRY OLD SOUL..."

He pressed into our lives!
Dont just be passive, be active!

To be omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent would not be possible, if you do not have the most important key...LOVE.

Without love, you are nothing.
If you love someone truly, you can be omniscient. Because you take the effort to know people, you sacrifice what you really want to truly seek God. Your desire is His desire.

If you love someone truly, you can be ominpotent. Because you will make sure that people around you are looked after, the way Abba Father takes care of you. Dont say you love people, when you only live for yourself.

If you love someone truly, you can be omnipresent. Because you will always want to be there. Sometimes we feel God's presence, He doesnt have to do anything or say anything, yet we can feel we are complete. Thats how people should feel about you, and not distant or DEAD.

GOD IS ALIVE!

Are YOU alive? Or are you just swaying through life. Or worse, dead in your spirit.

Quiet Time Notes - The Fire of Testing

1 Cor 3:13 (AMP):

The work of each [one] will become [plainly, openly] known (shown for what it is); for the day [of Christ] will disclose and declare it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test and critically appraise the character and worth of the work each person has done.

Just because something is beautiful, doesnt make it beautiful. Just because something is excellent, it doesnt make it excellent.

How do we know the quality of our work? Not by evaluation, not by peer-assessment, but by fire. Because fire not only exposes, fire tests and fire purifies.

Every breakthrough in our lives, doesnt stop just because we have broken through. Just when you think you have arrived, guess what? The fire will come to test it.

For example:

Just when you think you have passed your exams, guess what, a harder paper will come..not to break us, but to really test - not just your knowledge, but your character. More than just the good results, are you a diligent person? Are you committed?

Next thing you know, Dr AR Bernard is coming, 20th Anniversary is coming, big days are coming, your zone is gonna have OPM, now comes the test of priority and commitment.

It doesnt just stop there...everything is continuous, progressive and linked.

Just when you think your cg can multiply, does it stop there? No. Your sacrifices will be tested AFTER the breakthrough. Fire comes AFTER the work.

So if you think just getting the breakthrough is hard enough, sorry to say, it has only just begun. Now comes the real testing.

Thats why ps always says...

Talents, experiences, knowledge and ability gets you there,
But its character that keeps you there.

Dont aim for the top and not have the character to sustain it!

As a church, we have gone to places few churches has gone before, yet we are still united and fervent, why? We have the character and discipline to sustain the success and growth.

Lets not lose that passion, lets pluck into the DNA of the church.

You dont do the work first, then commit yourself.
You commit FIRST, then the work and the breakthrough will come.

Similarly...

You dont ask God to bless you first, so that you can give.
You give FIRST, then believe God for the blessing to come!

Obedience is greater than sacrifice.

Ahma, Randoms

For those who prayed for ahma, thanks, she's walking on her own right now. Just that she needs a support.

For those who didnt pray, please repent..because God is faithful even when ure not hahaha kidding.

When I saw her walking to me, you have no idea the joy and the satisfaction. I was glad to see that my morning, daily sacrifices were not in vain..seeing the fruits of my labour.

Going to work in the morning to pray alone is really a discipline I have to cultivate over a period of 2 weeks plus, but Im glad I did.

Nowadays Im happy to say that I sleep from 12 plus to 5plus, 6am. Quite a balanced sleep I suppose?

This week is ending soon, its almost unbelievable. Must be Monday's encounter haha. I still feel e atmosphere in my room man haha.

I was so inspired by ps kong, on sunday during service I sat behind him, well, not directly behind, but behind + beside haha. Got once he came down from stage to pass something to Ps Aries, he was laughing about something..

The moment he came near me and walked back onto stage, I sat there and think, hmm Ill be laughing too right? Afterall, he was smiling and laughing, think he said something to ps Aries..but..strangely, I was smiling...but tears just came down my eyes while smiling.

That is just how powerful, how consecrated his life was. You can feel the presence of God so close to you. Just like what Celeste shared during Celebrity weekend, the moment she heard ps kong apologizing to her, she almost cried..

I was really inspired by pastor's sharing about the guy who went to his house for BBQ. It was a simple BBQ, yet just being there, he felt the presence of God and he almost wept.

I want my room to be like that..that the moment people step in, they feel the presence of God. And we used to conduct prayer meetings in my room, so partly because of that, its easier to build up the atmosphere maybe? I dunno.

But nevertheless, prayer is always the key to revival. If there's no prayer in your house, your house will have no revival. If there's no prayer in your workplace, your workplace will have no revival. If there's no prayer in your cg, your cg will have no revival. Its as simple as that.

Things dont happen when you dont happen!

This week's been routine so far, other than having atmospheric breakthroughs.

Did really nothing much the entire day, just smsing and chatting with yubaobao (you want the 'yu' right? here it is LOL), facebooking, gaming, blogging, praying...and trying to get into the habit of reading the Word daily.

Afterall, you dont love God more than you love His word.

On another note, 6 ppl have complemented I look good in my facebook profile pic, the one taken at Best Coffeeshop opp JW like 3 years ago, when I was in poly 2. The one with the specs..2 guys, 4 gals said I looked good with specs..

I think this week Im gonna try it on..=D

Second Update, Spiritual Atmosphere

Today just received sad news that another fellow ns man's (in my npc) dad passed away in hospital today.

People are leaving here and there, its almost unreal that 3 incidents occured around the same period of just a few months and the last 2, in just 24hrs.

Life is short. Its absurd how people can say life sucks. Life is already so short, you mean to say your SHORT LIFE sucks? Come on. How narrow-minded can you get?

If life is long and it sucks, I can still understand, but life is short, and it sucks? It just shows you're spending your priorities on the wrong things.

Anyway, I practiced what I learnt from service yesterday in my own home. And man, the atmosphere broke through. Since I came home early and no one was home, I just plugged in my mp3, listened to worship songs and walked round the house over and over again, praying in the spirit.

I was in my room praying, and the atmosphere broke through. Awesome encounter.

I wasnt satisfied, I went on to the living room...I knew this was the place I used to have cg meetings so I figured out, it wouldnt be that difficult to break the atmosphere in that place..

But boy oh boy..it took 10mins longer than my bedroom and finally, BAM, presence of God so strong, I was weeping..

Still not satisfied, and desperate for even more, I went into my parents room. The atmosphere there was the strongest man, I was literally flowing like never-ending rivers of tears lol..the moment I started praying for my parents.

It was awesome, all in all, took about an hour. But no one was home, hehe. But it was just amazing, every room, filled with the shikinah glory of God. I was on fire man, I felt I could just heal the sick or pray for deliverance any moment..

That was after I finished praying in all the rooms, all throughout my house..that is..haha. I came back into my own room...man..presence of God..gosh..it feels like cg just ended hahaha.

Awesome!

(Mind you, I was the only one in the whole house and a cg meeting anointing was there. That's just how phenomenal it was!)

Quiet Time Notes

I was just reading this passage..1 Cor 2:4-5 (ASV)

4
And my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power;

You can be fluent in your language. You can be inspirational. But if your words carry no power, then it is still nothing. "Without love, you are nothing", you can have the best career, the best spouse, a rich and fulfilling life, but without love, you are still nothing.

Day to day, whether is it at work, in church, in school, in camp, do your words bring forth the manifestation of God? Or is it just plain ramblings after ramblings?

Our mouths belongs to God. To use our mouths to complain, that is insult to God. To use your mouths to swear, that is an insult to God. To use our mouths to gossip, that is an insult to God! Why? Because its as if you are making God complain, you are making God swear, YOU ARE MAKING GOD GOSSIP!

Many people can attend the same seminar, the same sermon, one leaves totally changed, while another, simply goes on with his life, stuck at a pinnacle, stuck at a problem that needs breakthrough. The key is in your prayer, the key is in your confession.

"If a man believes with all his heart, and does not doubt, he shall have whatever he SAYS".

Words are not responsive, words are creative, initiative, prophetic. If you are failing, its because you said you are. If you are no good, its because you said you are. No one made you to be like that, God made all things good.

When you were born, you were the superstar, everyone loved you, everyone wanted to play with you, you were the cutest thing there ever was. But what has happened to that superstar? You started to live your own life, for your own self.

What is in your mouth? God? Life? Or junk?

Note that Paul didnt just talked about preaching, he talked about speech!

Its not just what you say in church that matters, but in every conversation, in every meeting, in every social gathering. Let your words bring life to the dead, light to darkness, healing to the sick, joy to the sad and liberty to the oppressed.

"By faith, the worlds were framed by the word of God.."

To have our world framed by words is to literally set the boundaries of our life, with our words, how far we can go, etc.

If your vocabulary only consists of vulgarities, your life will be that, your life will be like ****, because thats all you know! There is a trend, people who go far in life, very often have very good vocabulary and sentence structure.

Have your words created anything?
If your life is in a mess, its simply because your words are in a mess!

5
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Do you believe a speaker just because he is wise, just because his preaching is good? Or do you believe a speaker because you have ginosko, a personal encounter?

If there were no such thing as churches, will you still believe? If there were no such thing as sermons, can you still live the godly life and bring down the presence of God?

It boils down to your personal relationship with God.

God is not a religion. Religion is man-made. And religion will be gone.

If all you do is religious acts and routine 'rituals', then you're just wasting your life away. Whats the point of doing all the good (not that its bad, we should do good), but at the end of our lives, we come before God and He tells us, "Who are you? Do I know you?"

How real is your life? That will reflect how real your God is!

Short Update

Few months ago, ahgong passed away. Today, a poly classmate of mine, passed away. Pulse suddenly dropped and on the ambulance, he quietly 'slept' away.

Only God knows our timings, just because the average human lives 80 years, it doesnt mean that you're gonna live as long. This guy never got to reach 25..and he died a natural death. Ill miss him.

So what are you doing with your life now? Is it still the same as when you first came to the Lord? You dont need a car accident, or a mishap to pass away. In biology, every few years our cells, skins and organs, are fully replaced by regenerated ones.

Ever wondered how older people look totally different from when they are young?

Everytime our body 'copies' a part of our DNA to replace our skin, tissues, etc, our DNA loses one cell or chromosome, whatever u call it. Its like photocopying paper. Each time you take the NEW photocopied piece and photocopy it once through, you realise as you keep doing that..the picture becomes more faded and distorted.

And our DNA determines how we look and amazingly, how long we will live. Each of our DNA has a specific number of chromosomes that are reserved for 'photocopying' of our tissues. Thats why our looks change as we grow, because they 'program code' for how we should look like, gets faded and distorted each time a cell is taken for 'photocopying' and replacement of our cells.

Once all the cells in the DNA has been used up..what happens?

Our body cannot reproduce any more cells. And, our life ends. God, being God, knows the exact number of cells in our DNA. We dont.

Start making your life count.

On another note,

Service was 'amen' all the way man. Simply awesome.

Things ps said like:

You dont love God more than you love His word!
If you dont bring your bible, if you dont take down notes, it simply shows you dont love God!

You cant stop people from twittering, smses, using their phones during service, there will always be that 20% who are not serious with God, not interested, simply cant be bothered no matter how hard you persuade them. They're always late, never early, they come when they feel like, they dont come when they dont feel like coming, they leave whenever they like.

For the adults, they skip praise and worship, because of some other commitment other than God and come only for the preaching..oh the praise is too loud, ohhh praise is a youth thing...

For the youths, the moment the preaching starts they leave, like in FOP..and you're gonna see the same thing I guarantee you. The moment the pastor goes up and say, 'lets turn to our bibles', all the younger ones will leave, go toilet, start smsing, using their phones, go buy their hotdogs..and then when the praise is back, they all come back..

Thats why the spiritual atmosphere is so weak..thats why they dont have encounters, they never grow and NOTHING HAPPENS IN THEIR LIFE!

How real is your christian walk? Is it really real? Or are you just pretending to be one?

Then there are those who come, sit down, cross their legs, fold their arms, and come expecting to be entertained. They dont go celgrp, they dont pray...they are not committed to the vision of the church!

Why not just go to a community club? If you're here we welcome you. And if ure already here for some time, then get along with the programme! If you still cant be bothered then sorry but this church is going to move on, with or without you.

But its okay, they will just automatically leave sooner or later. The negative will never hang around positive people. They just cant get along.

-Ps Kong

Life will never change, because life always moves on.
You need to change to catch up and overcome it.

Your Wants, Your Friends.

What kind of friend do you want? You be that person.

Whatever you want, that you sow.
You will only have what you have given.
You sow, you reap. You dont sow, you dont reap.

You want a caring friend, you sow care.
You want a rich friend, you sow generously.
You want a sociable friend, be sociable.
You want love, then love.
You want a talented buddy, start exercising your gifts and talents.

Sowing and reaping is not just a good inspirational theory, it is a LAW.
Like gravity, any law in the universe is absolute. Similarly with the law of 'cause and effect', 'actions and consequences', etc. Even God Himself will not change it. He is sovereign.

Your life is simply a reflection of who you are.
If you're always dull, your life will be dull.

There's no such thing as bad friends.
(Just check the dictionary for the definition of 'friends'.)
There's only unwise decisions!

You have the right to choose your friends,
When it comes to relationships, are you wise? Did you even inquire of God?
If no, then how can you firstly, make your own decisions, then secondly, have the nerve to ask God to bless it?

Anyone can have the intention to murder and pray for anointing and ask God to give him wisdom to murder the right person. Thats ridiculous. Wake up!

Just because something is good, it doesnt mean it is necessarily right.

I liked what Ps Tan said, "Your needs will only be met on the basis of meeting other people's needs". And like what the Word says, "He who waters others, he himself will be watered."

You say you love the people around you, but do you still love yourself?
Whats the point of telling someone "I love you", when you still love yourself?

"You're the only one I love.." Bullshit.
You still love yourself. There is still "I", "me", in your friendships and relationships.
How then can you say your love is unconditional love? To have "me" in it is already a condition!

If you want breakthrough, you break through.
If you want growth, you grow.
If you want to be blessed, then bless others.

Knowledge is power. Get grounded in the Word.
The basis of your christian walk is built on prayer and the word,
And of course, your relationship with God.

If you cant even love someone who loves you PERFECTLY,
Someone who remains faithful even when you are faithless,
How are you going to commit to someone who's imperfect?

Get your priorities right.

We dont need to be little Einsteins, we just need a bit of common sense.
Just because you're smart, it doesnt mean you're wise.

A person can have specialised driving license to drive a sports car with all the drifting techniques, and still take an innocent life and have his license revoked.

You can have a pilot's license, whoa, very prestigous, and still end up crashing the plane.

Its not about what you have,
Its about how you use it.

Einstein was the smartest man, not because he had a big head.
Einstein was the smartest man, because he used his brain 1% more.

"You will never be happy, until you become happy".

Do you love enough to cost you something?

What Im about to post here, might shock a lot of you, especially those who have grown up with me since my younger days.

But for the first time, Im going to miss final service, for Dr AR Bernard. :(

Yes, you heard me right. And its over what? Some jamming session. o.o

Sounds ridiculously immature? Yes.
Sounds wrongly prioritized? Yes.
Sounds like a new friend? Yes.

But God said, go ahead and do it.

Very "ZOMG" right?
Well, let me explain.

Lets just say I literally broke down in tears, when I heard it.

First as an advice from my cgl, to go ahead, since I already made a promise, secondly, as a double confirmation during my moment with God just now. He double confirmed it and He explained why.

Yes, Adam is right, in the first place, shouldnt people be hungry for the word of God? Both he and I am surprised that my bro's cg, no one believes in multiple services, in fact, NO ONE is going. To an extent, its true. It just shows their spiritual hunger, maturity and commitment level. It also shows a wrong priority and a lack of insight? Yes.

And to think I grew up being discipled, back in the days of JW, I go for all 6 services whenever ANY guest speaker is coming, and as far as I remembered, I always went alone, cus no one else would want to? Hahaha. I can still laugh about it till this day. But I enjoyed those days a lot.

At one time, being laid hands upon for 3 different services, 3 different altar calls, by the same speaker, Rev Dr Ulf Ekman. It was great, 3 different impartations all in the same weekend. You wanna talk about double portion, that weekend I had a triple portion.

However, God being God...He has His ways.

It was kind of a last minute adjustment, a foolish decision on my part I must say, must be because Im too tired to remember that this week is Dr AR Bernard.. O_O And so, I made a decision to commit to people's lives, in this case, the jamming session.

Was I heartbroken? Yes.

Acting upon my cgl's advice, I went to ask for their permission. Yes, these are my 'juniors' yet I still humbled myself and asked for their permission. But knowing them, they said its very hard, blablabla, so on. To me, I was a no nonsense guy. If you know me, I really cant stand people who arent serious with God, plain honest. They can sacrifice God for something, instead of the other way round.

Yet...when I sought God, how strange His response was!

Now..the question is, why do it?

I prayed, no answer.
I read the word, no answer.

Until when I came to the end of myself and my mind turned blank, God spoke in a still small voice. "Just do it. It doesnt matter no one knows, I am sending you, just do it."

Thats revelation. Man does not live on bread (logos - written word) alone, but on every word (rhema - the spoken word) that proceeds from the mouth of God. It comes from the Holy Spirit, God Himself, not just from pastors or preachers.

Sounds absurd right, that the God you love is asking you to leave His presence, His place of anointing and fellowship...but of course, for something greater. And God knows if He reveals everything to you, you wont be able to take it.

When one loves God so much to such an extent, even if He asks something like this of me, I would still do it. But not without much pain and pressure...tremendous stress.

Like people always know me for my 'perfect attendance', yes, apart from BMT confinement, I have never missed a single service, PM, or cg meeting for 6 years. Even if I missed cg, I would always go for make up. "Absent" doesnt exist in my dictionary. Commitment is a conviction, not a preference.

A conviction is something that wont take no for an answer. A conviction is something that, if you have to die to live it out,
You would gladly do it.
A conviction leaves no option or choice, to say no.
To you, going against your conviction is as good as sin.

Thats how strong my conviction was, no exam, no birthday, no gathering could stop me from being committed. To me, Id rather sacrifice all my friendships and relationships, just to be where God is, He is not just my first, He is my only. Any friendships that took my time with God away from me, I would rather abandon that relationship than to compromise.

In this situation, I couldve easily done it. Haha, but for some reason, God chose otherwise, for the FIRST TIME.

Now that Im going to do something drastic like this, what are people gonna say? What are they gonna think?

Of course, God assured me this and that, and I knew I was doing the right thing and I felt the peace of God. And Im really grateful to Him. Anyway...

Here was what God said to me...

"Yes, I know you love church, you love my presence, you are dependent on Me, you sacrifice a lot..and you wanna come for service, because you really love to. But........

......

But......

......

It is still something you want."

Wow. Period.

That..my friends, is maturity.
That..is what I call, MIND BLOWING, HEART CONVICTING, etc.

I dont know if any of you have come up to this level yet, maybe you're in SOT and you kinda know how it feels like..mission trips? Haha. Or like Sun or Ps Kong, who travel to and fro, to serve, to minister, and to lay down their lives for the kingdom of God.

It totally hit me. I felt I have gone up another level.

I remembered what I learnt in SOS, the leaving of the comfort zone, the story of how God told Abraham to gather his family and pack up, and they moved to another territory.

Its my exact same situation, just that, its not that bad, as to leave my country yet, but the measure of sacrifice is there.

Will you go where God sends you?
Do you love God more than you love His blessings?
Since the day you came to church till now, how much have you grown?
When you say you sacrifice for God, to what extent? To what measure?
Is He your first? Or is He your only?
Is He just your God? Or is He also your Lord?
Even if He is your God, is He your God of all?

Its time to stop thinking about yourself.
Its time to pick yourself up, wake up, and 'level up'.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but His word will never pass away.

Yes, we are all God's children.
But have you come to a place where He treats you as an adult?
Yes, He's our daddy, but children grow up.

God equips you to be independently dependent on Him.
That when the storm rages, and Jesus is asleep.
Why? He's waiting for you to step out, take initiative, take authority and calm the storm!

When He said, you of little faith, did He necessarily mean, "you dont believe ull be alright?"
Or did He mean, "you dont have faith to calm the storm?"

Move from initial love,
Past faltering love, growing love, transforming love,
To mature love.

The 3 Levels of Obedience

1. Partial Obedience

Based on a double-minded attitude.

People with this mentality obey because its something good, or they like the idea.
However, they are the ones who become the 'pilots' at the end.
These are the ones with commitment issues, people who just want to be comfortable.

They dont usually last the distance.

Because they are unstable, your relationship with them will be unstable.
So be warned.

2. Genuine Obedience

Being said, people with this mentality are generally nice people. They wouldnt mind doing favors for people they love and cherish. They are genuine and they really mean it.

There are 3 types of Genuine Obedience:

a) Satisfying Genuineness

These people obey, because it benefits them.
There's something good to earn from the experience.
They like the 'feel good' feeling.
They may also do it because it brings great joy to see their friend/leader happy.

b) Fluctuating Genuineness

These people are genuine.
However, they are fickle-minded.

They change their mind pretty quickly based on a different set of interests in their life. They can obey one person for a moment, and then next thing you know, that person is doing something else, for someone else. BUT..he is still GENUINE, yes, but to someone else. There is still an element of genuineness, but that attitude is often questioned.

He is not able to place a priority or make clear judgements and decisions.
And after they are done with their 'secondary task', and having lost focus, they come back to you.
And as previously said, when they do, they are still...GENUINE.

An irony; A controversial attitude.

c) Sacrificial Genuineness

These are the people who arent afraid of losing something.
They are willing to go the extra mile, even if it costs them something.
They are genuine to the max and most of them do it with joy.

Why do I say, "most...of them?"

Because there are people who are sacrificial, and yet put on a long face. Genuinely ingenuine. But yes, they dont mind sacrificing, but for the sake of something or someone. And when asked to do something, they can be sincere, but they get affected by the act of obedience, easily. But still, they go all out for it.

3. Hardcore Obedience

People who are hardcore in obedience, do it, simply because they have nothing else better to do.
They are super genuine, super flexible - adaptive and able to cope with change.
They think of the person whom they are helping all the time.

To these people, obedience is not only genuine, not only sacrificial, but obedience becomes something DEFINITE and UNCONDITIONAL in their lives.

It becomes a part of them.

Unlike the previous 2 types of obedience, this one has no terms and conditions.

Its automatic and very seldom, they will take a 'no' for an answer.
But dont be mistaken, they are not naive nor simpleton, they know what they are doing.
They are fully aware, fully passionate and excited about doing the things they are supposed to do.

A level of maturity.

450. Thanks Alvin. (Not the chipmunk :DD)

My new wife. She's heavvvvy man, real hard, real heavy rocker.

Mini Sports CG, ORD...not now, Rashes!

Had a great mini sports cg/fellowship at liz's place. Thanks girl for making the arrangements, ur place is the best lol. And today's weather was superb-ly awesome! WOOSH.

A week ago, I received an sms.

Its the first one with the words, "ORD" on it. I was so happy! Then the next word, "IPPT"..wah, sian. LOL.

First of all, they inform me 2 weeks before hand, plus the last one week I was down with fever, flu and cough. So 1 week is gone. Now left 1 more week. How to prepare man? O_O And now only when sia? (still got like 11+ months more). O_O You think ORD is the name of your underwear, can use whenever and wherever u like? O_O

1 week to prepare, its like...a wife suddenly coming up to the husband, "Honey, I know your birthday is one month's time, but look what Ive already gotten for you in advance...a bra....." O_O In appropriate action, at an inappropriate time.

Wisdom is doing the right thing at the right time, at the right place with the right people.

This case clearly identifies the abundance of thought and planning but without an ounce of wisdom! Yes, in advance, everything prepared. Thats good. But just the lack of wisdom alone spoils all your efforts. GOOD GAME.

Anyway, was in expo at 11 plus to setup for decentralized services. It was awesome. Manning the whole stage by myself, well, half...cus you still have the front guy haha. But man, I was sweating like mad, to save cost, we only turned on the AC just before doors open. Not even during sound check. =/ I guess thats reasonable, now that our church is on-ing the AC at JW 24/7 lol. SOT, Prayer365, OPM..plusssss....riverwalk, expo, etc etc. Really lots of costs :x

Anyway, served for 2 zones straight. Not bad, got to hear 2 different sermons haha. Both are good man. But really, it was a great experience all in all. Even though there were hickups here and there, its just the beginning and as the first service, Id say everyone did a great job. =)

Btw, I just realised I have sensitive facial skin =((

As I was setting up stage for DC services, and sweating like mad in the hot stuffy hall, I was touching the cables so its no surprise my hands are dirty and dusty, and I remembered I made one silly mistake, that was to wipe my sweat. O____O

Dang, you shouldve seen my face minutes after that. My whole face was red with dark red spots on top of the redness O_O. Yes..rashes. My whole face rashed for over an hour! Until I couldnt take it anymore I went to wash my face with soap.

Even still, after that for an hour plus, my face still had the rash, it wasnt so bad, but now it was burning, itchy, everything you can name it. =/

Haha, Id wish Id found this out earlier though, then I can drop pes like aaron said on my FB HAHAHA. Allergy to dust. O_O So stupid right? But it happened, I also cant say anything. =x

Sigh, next time whoever kiss me better make sure u wash ur lips! LOL!!!!! HAHAHA. Kidding.

But really pls be clean, now then I realise my face is allergic to dust mixed with sweat. Sigh. I thought I was already lame enough, but this made me even more lame. O_O

Linkin Park - New Divide

I remembered black skies, the lightning all around me
I remembered each flash as time began to blur
Like a startling sign that fate had finally found me
And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve

So give me reason to prove me wrong, to wash this memory clean
Let the floods cross the distance in your eyes
Give me reason to fill this hole, connect the space between
Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies across this new divide

There was nothing in sight but memories left abandoned
There was nowhere to hide, the ashes fell like snow
And the ground caved in between where we were standing
And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve

So give me reason to prove me wrong, to wash this memory clean
Let the floods cross the distance in your eyes across this new divide

In every loss, in every lie, in every truth that you'd deny
And each regret and each goodbye was a mistake too great to hide
And your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve

So give me reason to prove me wrong, to wash this memory clean
Let the floods cross the distance in your eyes
Give me reason to fill this hole, connect the space between
Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies across this new divide
Across this new divide, across this new divide

Short Update

Just a short update.

This is my 4th day with my flu and cough. Fever has subsided already though..PTL.

Boohoohoo, poor nosey, throaty me. :( Sniff sniff, sobsob, LOL.

I really said I wanna take mc like 2 days ago. Yesterday I said I wanna take mc today. Guess even when it comes to 'chao-keng'-ing, Im pretty complacent hahaha. Dont know if thats good or bad. Ok la, its not that I dont like doctors, its just that God's healing power is just too real for me already.

All these while when Im sick, it was God who healed me and .. knowing from SOS bible study that each one of us has a guardian angel, Im really thankful, whoever that angel is, whom God has placed over me.

Itll be nice to have a chance to at least shake hands with my guardian angel and thank him/her one day. Scully is some chiobu! If it is, I dont mind being single all my life man! knowing I have a beauty looking after me! HAHAHA!!!! ok kidding O_____O.

Not every angel looks human, in fact, they are a totally different being altogether. Angels do not have the breath of God, while we do.

Very full now..had dinner with pranee opp church. Thanks for the dinner, even though Im like...zombified, sotongey (blurblur), and reaction a bit slow. lol. =x

I think Im not a potato already..now I feel like snail LOL. Okay, snails are eeeky! =/ I shall stick to potato or bear. Nah, bear's too aggressive, ok....

Im...

Still...

A...

P o t a t o . . . w o o t s ! (Blogger doesnt wanna upload my potato pic! :(( ... )
