Deep Thoughts - Faith, Respect, Relationship

"God moves only when we move".

I just thought of this statement and a revelation stuck me.

I began to realize, dont always ask or expect God to take the initiative, afterall, He took the biggest initiative by sending His son to die for us. And not just to die, but to die a blameless and gruesome death.

The least we can do is to appreciate Him and trust Him for everything else in our lives. Treating Him like a vending machine is likened to a lack of respect.

Its not a religion, its a relationship!

And relationship requires time, effort, commitment and sacrifice, giving up the things you like to do to pursue God's dream. Dont just go to Him when you have needs, if not you'll go to your friends the same way.

How you treat people is how you treat God. (Works again :D)

Show God some respect. He is God, not you. Ps Tan preached a very good message about being a 'slave' to the Master, a bondservant. Not our will, but His be done.

Just an illustration, when the disciples woke Jesus on the boat, they got 'discipled', "You of little faith!". Many other occasions, the disciples got scolded for having a lack of faith, when Jesus discipled them its always 'Why no faith!'

"Without faith, it is impossible to please God."

To doubt God is like insulting Him, thats why unbelief turns Jesus off so much. Its like, you call Him God, you believe in Him yet you dont believe He can do THAT LITTLE for you! Why "THAT LITTLE"? Because God can always do more!

"Those who come to Him must know that He is, and that He's a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him".

We all should come to a level of maturity where God treats us like adults. At a certain stage, God expects a certain level of responsibility and initiative.

Trust Him, stop complaining, listen to His word and do it.

Dont always let God teach you by 'harsh treatment'. By that, I mean through trials, heartaches and difficult situations, if we all start taking initiative and ownership over our own lives, God will treat us like adults.

"Trust and obey, for theres no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey." :)

Always stay open and sensitive to God. Be always aware of spiritual things. Yet at the same time, live a balanced life. Living a fun and exciting life without spirituality is also a form of inbalance!

What you do, shows who your God is.
