Finding Your Purpose...
jus saw tracy's blog and i like one of the phrases that was written. something like:
"finding someone who is good looking, rich or smart is not so important. the most important is to find someone with a big heart, someone whom you know for sure will be there for you through your ups and downs. No matter what, he will always stand by you. Riches can be stolen/lost/taken away. Beauty fades as one ages. But one thing that stays with you for life is your heart."
how true. :) service was great today. arise and build for our new 7000 seater stadium is coming in 3 weeks. and for these upcoming 3 weeks, therell be entire churchwide fasting on wednesday and overnight prayer meeting on friday 11pm-5am. i believe that as 18000 sons and daughters of God begin to step out of the natural and into the supernatural, there will be a breakthrough in the realm of the spirit. it wont just be prayers going to God, but a sacrifice of praise. xD
im so excited. and i believe that God always do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or imagine. but most people forgot the second part..."ACCORDING to the power that is at work in us." any plan, dream or vision not backed by the power of God through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, is not gonna last.
here are just somethings i learnt from today's message on finding your purpose...yea...wow! hehe...
1. EVERYTHING in life has a PURPOSE
-rom 8:28, eccl 3:11 (amplified).
-nothing happens by chance. the number of hair on your head is not by chance, your skin color is not by chance, the things you're good at doing doenst come by chance, success and failure does not come from chance.
-ALL things WILL work out for the good of those who love Him (even the bad), TO THOSE who are called ACCORDING to His PURPOSE. -> sadly many failed to undestand the second part.
-That is why it's important to find your purpose in life.
2. My purpose is in the MIND of God.
-How do you find your purpose?
i) By the things your good at, things which you are passionate about.
ii) Your gifts and talents that others dont have.
iii) The way your circumstances have changed you. -> an EX drug addict's purpose is to reach out the drug addicts.
-God NEVER waste any experiences/circumstances in your life whether good or bad.
-Before TIME began, you were on God's mind, He had already had plans for your life.
-Our purpose is created and found in God, FOR God. -> It will never work if only part-a of this statement is fulfilled. You need to put part-b (FOR God) as part of your life. FOR EXAMPLE, a Nokia charger does not work on a Siemens phone.
-As long as you have a God-purpose, EVERY bad thing that can happen to you, WILL turn. Because in God, theres is no bad thing, every bad thing has to go. :) When God is for you, no one can be against you.
-How is our purpose revealed?
i) From our Source/Creator.
-dont go to ur friends to find ur purpose, or to ur boss, parents, relatives, shi-fu, but to the One who created you and has your purpose and life in His hands, a life of overflowing, abundance and blessing, miracles and breakthrough....a life where you're the head and not the tail, above and never beneath.
ii) From our life 'Manual' (The Word of God).
-every product has an instruction manual. in order for one to function properly and to fulfill its ultimate purpose, one has to discover what he can do, what he/she's made to do, ur gifts and talents, principles, etc. from the 'Manual' of God. So that we wont 'short-circuit' or 'break down'.
iii) From the Holy Spirit.
-God can be everywhere and yet personal and intimate with you at the same time, through His Spirit.
-His Spirit knows the deep things of God, and when we find our purpose in God and walk in it, He will reveal His ways/secrets to us.
-Jer 29:11, Rom 12:2, Acts 2:17, 1 Cor 2:9-10
3. Your purpose is constantly and unceasingly CALLING out to you.
-You dont have to find your purpose. It was there EVEN BEFORE you were born. THe moment you were born into this world, it began to CALL OUT to you. Inviting you into your destiny and the life that God wants you to have.
-"Vocation = Vocare(Latin) = To CALL OUT"
-"Vocation (Webster's Int Dictionary)" =
i) A divine call to a place of service to others in accordance with the divine plan.
ii) The responsibility of an individual or group to serve the divine purposes in every condition, work, relationship of life. It involves the total orientation of a man's life and work in terms of his ultimate sense of mission. (Purpose)
-2 Tim 1:9
4. Living out your purpose is a CHOICE you have to make.
-Deut 30:19
-E.g If your life is unsuccessful, you can blame no one. You have CHOSEN the unsuccessful path or worse still you dont have the desire.
-The biggest statement made by the God of the universe is that man CAN make a CHOICE/DECISION for themselves.
-There's no such thing as fate. Everyone is allowed to make a CHOICE. So many have chosen to reject God's will for their life and they blame it on fate. Well, if i can put it this way, if fate exists, then fate is the decision u make in your life. =)
-Fate doenst control your life, you control your fate!
Im really touched to tears during offering by how the previous generation have sacrificed their life so that we can be in such a magnificent building and to be where we are right now. Indeed, every success comes after sacrifice. Durin offering i told myself that im gonna give a 4-figure amount. ive did it once, and im gonna do it again, but once again...its not my decision, but God decides how much i should give :)
The money i have and the life i live...is not mine and i dun life for 'me', indeed its no longer 'I' but Christ who lives in me. The money that i have is God's ill let Him decide the amount, and my life is His, ill just stay close to my calling and purpose to fulfill me destiny. =) yea...!
